Chef Jacqueline Borden

Jacqueline Borden is a professionally trained Chef, raised in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

Following the completion of her studies, Jacquie worked in numerous restaurants, resorts, and hotels around Australia, ultimately finding herself drawn to the flavors and techniques of Thai cooking. In 1990, after training in the kitchen of a locally renowned Thai chef, Jacquie opened her own restaurant in northern Australia called Thai Me Kangaroo Down, where she brought to life her interpretation of Thai cuisine.

Jacquie later moved to France where she was hired as a private chef aboard the 175 foot classic schooner, Aquarius W, where she continued to hone her Thai cooking skills. Eight years later, Jacquie found herself in Newport, Rhode Island, where she became a regular guest chef for the PBS television program Cultivating Life and has been involved in the heritage breed and local food movement.
