After School Series – Wednesdays – Creating & Writing Our Own Recipes for Children 11 – 16 years old – Wednesdays

This class meets on Wednesdays from 4 – 6pm – 11/4, 11/11, 11/18 & 11/25
This 4-week series of classes is designed for kids who know their way around the kitchen and want to challenge their culinary knowledge and skills. We’ll reinforce the building blocks of cooking from scratch – mise en place, mirepoix & international “holy trinity(s)” and basic cooking & baking techniques. Each class we’ll cook or bake something completely from scratch and create our very own unique recipes! On the last day of the series we’ll break into two teams and have a friendly cook off. Throughout this series we’ll emphasize knife skills, kitchen safety, cleanliness and interesting and unusual ingredients.
Please Note: We cook and bake with the very best ingredients we can purchase which may include gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, dairy, fish & shellfish. Unfortunately, we can not accommodate for special diets and/or severe allergies in our general cooking classes.
Covid-19 Policies & Protocol – We are limiting classes to ONLY 6 children per session and require masks be worn in the Kitchen unless we’re eating. We will keep the windows open, fans on and follow protocols set forth by the RI Governor’s Office, Department of Health and Center for Disease Control. *Must have 6 children registered to hold each class series, so invite all of your child’s foodie friends to join the fun!
